Summary of 2015

At the beautiful gazebo located downtown in my city
Hello!

My winter break has finally ended and I'm heading back to school today. For my sorority we have recruitment bootcamp Saturday and Sunday. Basically this half of the year has been decent.

School related things:
After numerous applications in the end I was able to get 6 interviews: 4 accounting position practicums, 1 finance summer internship, and 1 finance and accounting summer internship. I received 1 offer from the finance and accounting position so I will have a place to intern at for the summer!

As for classes I did ok but not as well as I hoped for but I will try harder this semester to improve my grades. I can't believe that this semester will be be last semester taking core classes needed for my major. Next fall I will be finishing up my undergrad classes which includes capstone and electives. I also need to declare my finance minor and apply for the masters program.

Winter break:

This break I was able to hangout of with my friends from high school. Everyone seemed to be doing well. We went to the new Bdubs and the wings were spicy but overall a great experience.

The wings I got were had the honey BBQ sauce

I went to Wholefoods recently because my brother wanted orange juice. I was really craving chocolate so I picked up a bar.

I really like this dark chocolate. Since it was only 56%, the taste wasnt very bitter.

The bakery section I can only look but not buy
I'm so happy to be able to buy cupcake from Babycakes again :D

Butter Pecan: buttery taste and I loved the pecans

Strawberry Champagne: very smooth and the frosting was very glossy
On the day after Christmas we went to the outlet mall to see if there was any sales.  I got this bright vest and a grey cardigan. The vest is super warm because it is made from down and also it was half off and the cardigan is a nice thick material.

Vest: Nike
Cardigan: Tommy Hilfiger
Of course every time I come back I have to go to the mall. I was able to get two similar dresses from H&M. One is a half sleeves black dress while the one is sleeveless dark blue. I don't remember the cost of each dress but my total was under $27. Me and my sister also dropped by Gloria Jean's to get some chillers. I got my usual ultimate cookie chiller which was delicious as always. I posted the picture below on instagram and got featured on the Gloria Jean's instagram page :D

Left: Ultimate Cookie Chiller
Right: Macadoodle Chiller
Awhile back after the last week of classes my boss and her assistant treated me and my co-workers to lunch, We went to this restaurant that was on campus. The food is decent but not my favorite place to go.

philly steak with no mushrooms and sweet potato fries
I was able to meet up with my best friend from high school and we got crepes as usual. You've probably seen this crepe before in my blog.

Fruit Lovers Crepe

End of Semester, Now Summer

 Hello,

I went home briefly before finals week to celebrate my mommy's birthday. We went to her favorite place to eat which was Texas Roadhouse of course. The prime rib was excellent as usual and the place was pretty busy.

For our last business frat exec meeting our president bought us cupcakes! It was super yummy and this strawberry one was so good.

This red velvet one isn't too bad either. They are currently located at a local mall but they have a couple of other locations as well.

Pretty much my study spot for finals is starbucks. I like the atmosphere a lot though it can be easily crowded at times.

Lighting was good at my dorm so i decided to take a selfie.

We had an awards gala for my sorority so this is me with my community service co-chair. So excited to be working with her next year.

The big-little pic which I always like to take. The lighting is really good at this ballroom.

The fam although we are missing some members. Good luck to my grandbig as goes on to do case grad school. I'll miss my little one as she goes off the Ireland but I know she'll have a lot of fun.

Another good spot to study is panera. The food is so-so but the place is nice.

Now i'm back home to enjoy the summer!

XOXO,

M

Free Coffee Oh Yeah!

(iced vanilla macchiato)

Hello everybody,

I started drinking starbucks since high school. Later on I bought myself a gift card to collect stars and earn free drinks. There is an university owned starbucks on campus. Because I had collected enough stars I went  in last friday to redeem my free drink. The weird thing was they didn't swipe my card or anything. I only took out my card and the lady told me I was good. My starbucks card still told me that I had a reward so I thought maybe i thought the machine wasn't working. Then I went in today to try my luck and get a free drink. Guess what they didn't swipe my card again! So I still have the reward on my card. To not be so greedy I probably use my card at another starbucks on campus to redeem my free drink. Never less everything tastes better when they are free.

Have a great day!

Love,

Christmas, New Years lalala~

(My love Gloria jeans coffee)

Christmas has just passed and now it's time for new year. This winter break has given me more time. There is no study or doing homework. Quite nice.

(Hung out briefly with my lovely friends)

These days have been filled being home or work. It was really busy on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Ah how long it has that I have always worked on Christmas Eve and Christmas. I worked at my parents restaurant by the way. Fun fact: most Chinese places open on Christmas. Business hasn't been well this past year so I was surprised that we were actually busy. I complain a lot. I've always complained about working at the restaurant but it's my motivation to do well. Every time I don't want to study, I remind myself how life would surely be miserable if I had to work at the restaurant forever.

Though I do get presents I didn't get the Christmas spirit in me. This year I got plenty of scarfs haha. I love it. I'm very tempted to spend my Christmas money but I have to remind myself that I need to save money for books for next semester.

(Masks I bought from sasa weeks ago)

I keep feeling this sense of uneasiness maybe it's due to the cold. Well my house is always freezing. It'll would be nice to live somewhere that's actually warm. Ah the snow is making so many places close. It is legit freezing outside. Can't wait to be back at school.

I hope to be more grateful. I dream to be a better person.

(Red velvet cake at giant eagle, me want)

Love,

Maybel
